An event created by the Dançando com a Diferença group in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, which had its first edition in June 2010 to promote the debate and sharing of experiences in the areas of Inclusion and the Arts, thus disseminating knowledge and development in terms of inclusive practices, essentially in works involving artistic and social areas.

In 2017, Encludança, which took place in the city of funchal, had a special focus on intellectual disability and lifelong learning, bringing to the stage different national and international groups with artists of various ages integrated in groups with different specificities (from children to senior citizens), through the presentation of amateur and professional Dance and Theatre performances.

Going beyond the cultural and artistic component, this edition of Encludança was marked by the presentation of a scientific symposium called Freaks & Cyborgs: Differences on Stage Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow on December 2nd and 3rd. This symposium, the result of a partnership with the Faculty of Human Motricity of the University of Lisbon, had as its central point conversations and sharing of experiences about the work around the presence of people with disabilities in the global cultural panorama, with special incidence on a look at the presence of technology as a form of adaptation to the demands and physical and sensorial needs of people with disabilities and its presence and contribution to changes in aesthetic-artistic notions and conceptions in the artistic panorama of the new century.

Complementing this more scientific aspect of the International Meeting of Art and Accessibility (ENCLUDANCE), two Workshops were held. One in Dance and another in Theatre, which took place at the São Martinho Gymnasium and were taught by two national and international references in the panorama of Inclusive Art, being open to all with prior registration.

In addition to the talks and workshops, to conclude this symposium, the participants were able to watch, at the Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias, a cycle of presentations of short documentaries between 15 and 40 minutes that recounted various experiences of working with people with disabilities in the field of the arts.

The lecture From "Word to Body: Violence in Difference" under the responsibility of three guest speakers addressed in different schools in the region the issue of bullying, violence and notions about the difference of the other. In this action this international meeting shows that we should not neglect the importance of lifelong learning. The ENCLUDANÇA events were held and aimed at different target audiences, from seniors to young people of school age and also contemplated decentralization, since they left the Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias and met the populations in other environments, including school.

Lectures: "From Words to Bodies: Violence in Difference

The presence of the other and the acceptance of the differences of those around us is fundamental for a good coexistence in society and is one of the essential elements for the formation of the identity of young people as future citizens. Difference, in its most diverse aspects, is still one of the main causes for violence in the school environment. The lack of understanding and knowledge of the other appears as the main elements of segregation, discrimination, and aggression, never being seen as elements of curiosity, understanding, and inclusion.

The lectures "From the Word to the Body: Violence in Difference" are a school intervention element inserted in Encludança - 3rd International Meeting of Art and Accessibility, that with the help of speakers Marco de Barros, Telmo Ferreira and Thiago Soares will discuss themes such as differences (corporal and social), bullying, orientation and gender and the importance, acceptance and inclusion of the other as one of the fundamental principles of humanism. In a conversation/debate with students from different schools in the region, each speaker will speak from their personal experiences.
