Workshop with Elena Castilla

Workshop with Elena Castilla

Having a short comeback after the pandemic period and with a break for vacations, the company Dançando com a Diferença makes its "reentry" with the return of the curators Tânia Carvalho and Luís Guerra.

This project developed by this structure in collaboration with these artists involves the definition of a cycle of workshops for the company's dancers. The artists for this cycle of workshops are invited according to the technical-artistic needs verified by the curators.

On September 14th at the Dançando com a Diferença Studio / Armazém do Mercado, the company receives dancer and teacher Elena Castilla for the second initiative of this curatorship. This artist has a degree by the Escola Superior de Dança de Lisboa, post-graduated in Artistic Expression and Dance, and in Pedagogy of Teaching. She works in parallel between creation/interpretation and teaching and as a pedagogue she is interested in building a platform for artistic creation where the participants investigate and explore with and in their bodies by performing group body practices related to perception, space/time/subject relationship.

Throughout his artistic career he has had presentations in Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Finland and Cape Verde.

The first workshop programmed by Tânia Carvalho and Luís Guerra took place in the last weeks of February of this year. It was given by the French artist Florent Hamon, who involved the dancers in expression/character creation and circus techniques. This workshop with Elena Castilla is the second initiative programmed by these curators, with a last initiative that will take place in the last weeks of November 2020.

For now it is Elena Castilla's turn for two weeks of intense work.

The curatorial project by Tânia Carvalho and Luís Guerra takes place within the scope of the sustained support for the biennium 2020 - 2021 of the Direção Geral das Artes.
