SUMMER LAB | Intensive Dance Training Program
The Paulo Ribeiro Company and Teatro Viriato promote Summer Lab, an intensive program of dance training, which will take place throughout this week.
In an alternative format to the usual, the event has for the first time an online version, with the participation of dancers and choreographers Cyril Baldy, Kristian Lever, Barbara Griggi, Hugo Marmelada and Sadé Alleyne (Akram Khan Company), through the Zoom platform. Between July 13 and 17, the trainers will provide access to various artistic languages, creative methods, styles and practices of the body, ranging from classical and contemporary dance techniques, improvisation, choreographic laboratory, as well as composition according to the method of renowned choreographer Wayne MacGregor. In this context, our dancers had the opportunity to explore the improvisation method of William Forsythe with Cyril Baldy, and the language of Gaga Movement with Hugo Marmelada in two workshops that took place on July 13 and 14, from 18:00 to 19:30, allowing contact with trainers and choreographers of national and international renown, in a privileged space for sharing and professional growth, but also personal, stimulating and contributing to the improvement and evolution of each of the dancers.
